Who's a good dog? Huh? Are you a good dog?

Family dog Rocky is recovering Wednesday after fearlessly chasing a mountain lion out of his owners’ La Verne backyard last week.

Just before 8 p.m. Friday, Mary Padres was in her yard when she spotted a mountain lion staring back at her.

Ol' Rocky doesn't seem to be any worse for wear in the video at the link. Matter of fact, he seems to be pretty damned proud of himself.

  3. Good dog, but dumb owner. Why open the gate to let your dog chase it.

  5. Dog is a hero. Owners are dim bulbs at best. We see a mountain lion so let’s just go out in the dark and check for sure. Extras in a horror flick at best.

    But good dog.

  6. Can you imagine the tales when Rocky and his buds get together.
"Man! you should have seen the cat I tangled with last night. That sucker was huge! Just look where he clawed me. But I chased him off."

  11. Mountain lions, like most predators, want an easy meal, not a real fight. Once the dog made it clear that this was going to be a fight, the cat took off. Mountain lion can't afford to be laid up healing.
