Will California ever be safe?

In my home state of California, smash-and-grab is fast becoming a way of life. Crime is a rampant, daily occurrence. Just this week, two of my close friends were robbed near San Francisco.

One owns a popular restaurant; the front door was destroyed, and the cash register robbed. The other was renting a car, the entire rear window of which was smashed to bits and the contents swiped. So common is this sort of looting and thievery that when he returned the rental car, he noticed that the car company’s lot was full of vehicles with broken windows.

  2. An example of the illusion of affluence, flamed by grifters benefiting from the inevitable chaos.
    .
Distanced from their chaos, and insulated by wealth (and the security/mobility it buys), grifters are mostly immune to their consequences.
    .
Their security lasts only as long as the salary-to-risk ratio stays out-of-balance in favor of the salary.
As the ratio nears equilibrium, and it inevitably must, the interest of security personnel may wander...

  3. The absence of God is the reason. Criminals have put the love of “things” (for lack of a better word) over the love of God. There’s a reason Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s goods was issued. Envy engenders hatred which leads to lack of respect which becomes the mindset, “Why can’t I have that/those?”

We had a better society when we had God in our schools and society in general.

Depends on the God and the schools. There were some madrassas in Germany and Afghanistan that stirred up a bit of a ruckus about 20 years ago.

  6. Great words of wisdom from Marge and Bobo.
America has indeed turned its back to God. There shall be much gnashing of teeth in its future. It is written.
    Merry Christmas.

  7. Let's get serious: San Fransh*tco and the Bay Area hasn't been "safe", for any value of that word, since the 1950s. If ever.
