  2. I thought he was going to shoot a tranquilizer dart and wondered why he didn't hurry up and take the shot cause then you have to tranquilize the second one, too. Now I see why he was yaking so long. That was a good shot!

Next question, that looked like a shotgun. Was it? That would explain why he got so close.

    1. I was hoping someone here would have the answer. My guess was a small bore shotgun with a full choke tube.
I'd like to know, as I have several bucks at my place that are always sparring. It would be nice to know what a guy could do if a couple got locked up like that.

    2. I'd bet on a slug. Even that close buckshot would spread too much to pull that shot off.

    3. Looks like a Remington or one of the Home defense type shotguns that police carry in their cars.
As for the load, has to be a slug. Any type of shot even at that range would have done the deer in.
Guy standing with no barrel rest was pretty good shot.

  3. k, I reviewed the clip and saw the shell eject and fall to the ground. Definitely a good shot.

    1. I don't see where brave even figures into it, but that was actually a pretty damned nice shot.

  5. Also, a damn fine thing for anyone to do. That's one of the reasons I like being in the woods. It seems all my troubles to include any of my negative attitudes go away.

  9. Uncle Ted did almost the same thing with a pistol, except one had died by the time he found them.
