We'll see

Significant snowfall is likely this weekend across Middle Tennessee and extreme Southern Kentucky. Snow totals could be large in many communities.

I've been tracking this storm on ventusky.com for a couple days now. I can check it and it'll show the storm squatting right over the top of us saying we're going to get 6 inches of snow, then an hour later I'll check it again and it'll have the entire storm system skirting around us with no snow expected. Two hours later, we're getting snow again
Not that it makes much difference - my generator is still on the porch from the last storm, we've got plenty of food, I've got firewood, kerosene and lamps, and I have no place I need to be.
The worst case scenario as far as I can see is we'll lose power and the internet for a couple days, so if I don't post anything Monday or Tuesday, you'll know why.

  1. If the Weather Channel gives the storm a name, they have to try to scare the crap out of everyone so they can interrupt every commercial to show the weather babe's tight skirt.

  2. Yep. Same here. The whole dang family is planning on spending Saturday at the house, just in case. The only reason being; because I still have wifi when the power goes out.

  3. Looking like 11-16" up here. Mostly depends on if the center is east or west of us. West, we get sleet. East 50mi...and we're gonna be tit deep on a midget.

  6. I was told this amount of snow did not happen in TN!
Oh well, we have plenty of propane and a hurricane genny with gas standing by... But I will blame Wirecutter for freezing my cojones off.

    1. The best part about Tennessee snow is that it only lasts for a day or two.

  7. Check both Ventusky and Windy to see which has the better models for your area. I use Ventusky on the lower East coast / Florida, as it b has both the US and European weather models available.

  8. I know you have Facebook. Unless you're currently on banishment right? Look up the Forsyth County Georgia Sheriff departments page. My wife just showed me. Funny as shit and so true for inclement weather in this part of the country. Says something like "snow possible. 0 to 85 inches. and then goes on an on to mock how we here deal with the weather. All I know is governor just convened an emergency public meeting saying this one may actually be a "real storm" and one meteorologist said conservatively, here in the North Georgia Mountains, we could see 3-5 inches and he said if we get 8-10 not to say he didn't tell us so. So I reckon on my way home from my clinic tonight I'll have to stop and get my stash of milk and bread. Cause that's what we do here in the south. Even if we don't need it.

    2. We will see what we get could be snow, could be ice and could be both. It is supposed to start tonight so I will know when I see it in the morning. Stay safe and don't try to drive on ICE

  9. I just paid $$$$ to have my snowblower repaired (DAMN ETHANOL ADDITIVE) so I don't expect any appreciable collection here in East Tennessee.
