A number of Los Angeles County beaches have been closed Friday, one day after 6 to 7 million gallons of untreated sewage was discharged into the Dominguez Channel.
The sewage spill occurred in the city of Carson and was caused by the failure of a 48-inch sewer main line, the California Office of Emergency Services reported.
I thought this the norm. It is a shit hole right?

ReplyDeleteWhere the affluent meet the effluent.
ahhhhhhhhhh the joys of living in a 3rd world country.
ReplyDeleteRemember when California was the greatest place to be (60's?) yeah, me either.
If a manure (ag) lagoon or pumping unit failed and spilled 1/100th of that, Cali would fine/penalize them to the moon. Another double standard where this gets almost ignored for the city where it would crush a farmer. Manure is stinky, but a lot less nasty bugs in it compared to people poo, there is a reason you need HEP vaccines (among a long list of others) to work in human waste treatment...
ReplyDeleteThey were afraid of the rona contamination in the sewage. I hope it spreads fast.
ReplyDeleteA news story said a (whatever they call a county commissioner there) "demanded an investigation," cause, you know, otherwise everybody would have just ignored the whole mess.
