Alabama House Committee Passes Constitutional Carry HB 272
U.S.A. –-(AmmoLand.com)-– On February 16, 2022, the Alabama House Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee has passed the HB 272 version of Constitutional Carry. It will now be voted on by the House.
While I wholeheartedly agree with CC, I fear it may cause more gun violence. That will give the loony left more "ammo" to why they need more gun control. I wish there was more felon control, but then then THAT would lead to less gun violence defeating the left's war on guns.
I highly doubt it. I've been a concealed carry holder for years. The crooks, thuggies and other pondscum carry illegal pistols anyway. Sometimes they're caught, jailed and they bond out a few days later.
It's a real pain to drive to the Sheriff's office yearly and pay your fee for the permit. I'm not a criminal and only carry to protect myself. I'm an older woman. I can't outrun these people or defend myself if 3 or 4 of them pounce on me.
It's time to end this fee. If you want to get a carry permit to travel to other states, fine. But this fee is onerous and stupid.

The Sheriff's Assoc. was against it because of the loss of revenues from the permits, not because of safety issues.
