Here in Locust Grove, gas will usually be lower than everywhere else I go. But it will jump as much as 25 cents in one day to match or be higher than other places. Then it will drop about 3 cents each day until it is 25 cents lower. There are 6 stations on one side of the interstate, and Murphy seems to drive the rest of them down ( including Quick Trip). The two on the other side stay at max price all the time. So I try to time my fill ups to match the down swings.
Small town N Idaho= $3.47 for 87 octane Chicharrones= $2.29 bag (Kroger) was 1.99 just 6 weeks ago. My dogs and I have a chicharrones sharing snack most nights...and Social Security check has only gone up by 5%. Told em, we have to ration. Sad looks.
Keeping your tank topped up, with a few jerry's in reserve, will help when they raise the price overnight. While those that drive around with an quarter tank get the pain train next morn.
$3.07 at the station at the end of my street. Lowest price I've seen here in the mountains of WNC. Usually, the further you are from the distributor, the higher the price. Lafayette was always higher than Gallatin when I lived there.
Well grab socks cause that federal judge that voided the offshore drilling leases last week just added another .35 to .50 cents to that gallon of gas. JD
Here in central New England the low starts at $2.98, nxt step up is $3.23 to $3.25 for 6 stations. Then we go to $3.29 to $3.35 for about a dozen stations. Then another dozen at $3.39 with one at the top, a BP that I've almost never seen anyone fueling at since the debacle in the Gulf, at $3.49.
Biden reduced our oil production, then increased imports from Russia. Then begged Russia to send us more. Nows claims he will put sanctions on Russia, so what happens when Putin says FJB?
We operate a small organic teaching farm near Eugene, Oregon. We deliver processed veggies and meats to local-owned grocery stores. . Our life runs on diesel fuel. us$4.35 a gallon for the 'high-priced spread'. . We are very close to shutting down... who can afford to stay in business?
Don't complain Ken. Here in madera california I paid 4.299 gallon for 87 octane yesterday.
ReplyDelete$3.39 here in central Florida. FJB and his ancestral goat.
ReplyDeleteDiesel for road in Central CA is now $5.00. Once they get their war going in Ukraine, everything should be fine though...

Don't forget, with that SS increase comes increased Medicare premiums and higher co-pays.

I put at least one "I did that" Biden sticker on the pump every time I fill up in Santa Rosa CA (Karen count)
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to notice scratched-off spots on gas pumps here in Eastern Shelby County, TN.
DeleteI got gas yesterday here in NorCal and noticed the same thing. There was just enough sticker left to see "that" and Joe's finger pointing.
Delete72 bucks to fill up a 20 year old Ford Ranger. FJB.

ReplyDeleteCheapest gas around here (Riverside Cty, CA) is $3.95. Consider yourselves lucky if gas prices are under $3.

ReplyDeleteBoth Gallatin and Portland are cheaper than Lafayette by about a dime, but both those towns are closer to a freeway.

FJB, and the fake votes he rode in on...
ReplyDelete3.59 in N Central PA and S Central NY today, I was in both
ReplyDelete$4.05 here in the Oregon Outback. And yes, we're entirely too close to Kalifrutopia, even if it is the redneck corner of that state.
ReplyDeleteCentral Texas, ~$3.90 for premium a few weeks ago, need to check next time I fill.
ReplyDeletePropane (residential price) is $3.4/gallon.
I use wood heaters but one isn't installed yet so I need propane to get through the freeze in two days.
