CENTRE COUNTY., Pa. (WJAC) — Investigators with the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement say a Pennsylvania couple has been charged for illegally producing and selling moonshine for the better part of three decades, according to a criminal complaint.
And a very light, turn the bottle down and back up, it needs to bead. In Va. only ABC, alcohol and beverage control government stores can sell the hard stuff. In the Shenandoah we called it Anna Bell Cash. Gonna go visit Anna Bell Cash. Given a choicer shine was my preference. I hated to hear of this old couple being busted. The undercover buyers what set them up are assholes.
ReplyDeleteOnce knew some Boys from Dovel Hollow in Page County. Desiring higher education, they regularly attended the American Business College. Knew of a granny in search of a taste, downsized Pappy's recipe for use in her trusty pressure cooker. All went well until neighbors in her building complained of the smell. On the bright side, she didna feed the mash to neighborhood animals.
DeleteI guess the Democratic Forces are trying to show that their opposition is made of drunks and hill billies. Tell it to the Truckers (and pilots and hospital crews).
ReplyDeleteJust a small hobby to help supplement their social security income.
ReplyDeletePerhaps activities like this wouldn't be necessary if the Social Security weren't taxed if they made more than poverty-level outside income.
DeleteSorry, but it's tax season and I get a bug up my ass about this every year.
That SS tax was *surprise!* Biden's baby.
DeleteSome say it's still practiced over on Briar Mountain near Ferrum ... heh-heh
ReplyDelete"ohhh they call it that good old mountain dew
and thems that refused was few
So now just fill up my jug….
With some good old mountain dew."
Well my uncle Snort he's sawed off and short. He measures five foot two. But feels like a giant when ya give him a pint of that good ol Mountain Dew. Love thet song.
ReplyDeleteI am not so sure about the allure of 'shine. A few years ago, after touring the Buffalo Trace Distillery in KY, we were allowed to sample their wares, one of which is a product called White dog, which is essentially whiskey bottled straight out from the distilling process. Had a sip and its was one of the most God awful taste experiences (outside of tasting Uzo) I've had.
ReplyDeleteThe brought back memoires of a time when a a farmer uncle of mine started to harvest his corn too early, let it sit in his ten-wheeler too long and of course the corn started to ferment on its own, and then smell of that fermenting corn was none too pleasant. That was the taste of the White dog, and by projection, moonshine.
As to the Commonwealth's ABC stores and the Commonwealth deciding what we shall imbibe and at what price, the last Republican governor promised he would privatize the ABC stores. wonder what happened to that promise?
Buffalo Trace is crap. Wouldn't mop my floor with it.
DeleteTry Chattanooga Whiskey.
Chattanooga whiskey isn't aged but 2 years. That is the definition of crap.
DeleteOkay, we get it. You don't like Buffalo Trace whiskey. Nobody gives a shit, but if you don't like it, don't buy it. There are hundreds of other brands out there for your tasting pleasure. Just because you don't like it doesn't make it crap. But that also begs the question. How would you know something tastes like crap? Do you eat crap?
DeleteUh-oh. Somebody has been depriving the Revenuers of their fair share for almost as long as Brandon has held public office. We can't have that now, can we?
ReplyDelete"Revenuers" *spit*. You spelled "parasites" wrong, Elmo.
DeleteMaybe they can claim they were only making hand sanitizer to keep people safe from the wuhanic plague.
ReplyDeleteThey should have marketed it that way or proclaimed it was fuel for drag racing and should never be consumed.
DeleteAnd what fucking harm did they do??? It's not like they're selling Fentanyl. For Christ's sake!
ReplyDeleteDepriving the Feds of $$$ for licensing to be a legal distiller of sprits and more $$$ in taxes to be paid on every single drop they distill.
