You want war? We'll give you war

REDMOND, Wash. - Your next cup of coffee is going to cost you.

"We’re not making any money on the drip coffees anymore because the cost of coffee has gone up so much," said Victor’s Celtic Café owner Andrea Parrish.

Roasted coffee prices haven't spiked this much since 2012. Parrish is already trying to manage those increasing costs.

I haven't noticed any difference in price in the store - yet.

  1. The prices in our stores are up , but the are on sale half of the time, so you don't notice it.

  2. We've been adding to our coffee stores for the last couple years, along with everything else.
Yuban for the next year right now. Fewer stores carry it now so it's getting harder to find.

    1. Still only $4.99 when on sale in my neck of the woods.
Cheaper than a gallon of diesel. And Yuban tastes better.

  5. I shop various sources on line and yes, prices have almost doubled. This has been forecast for at least six months though

  6. There are other decent, hot drinks... but the loss of caffeine would be difficult, indeed. A few years ago, I tried to "go off" caffeine. I managed to do that for almost three weeks. I got too drowsy and stupid to do my job :P
Aside from missing the coffee itself, it was quite the ego death to realize I'm not actually smart enough to do my job without chemical assistance. Maybe if I went on diet pills, I'd solve some of the problems that have plagued me since graduate school!

  9. I used to live in Redmond for @18 months some time back, things there expensive regardless. It is the home of Microsoft do that tends to drive prices way up.

  12. I was getting coffee from Wally World for a while, the largest Folgers red, plastic container when I realized I had 10. Then I started reading about the coming Coffee Inflation! so I got a few more.
They were $9 and change, now they're $11 and change. Glad I stocked up.

Check the ounces in the container that you're buying today vs the ounces in the container from 3-6 months ago. Container is the same size, same price, less ounces.
