  1. The key is succession, though. Plant all those greens on the same day, and you will have a great harvest -- for one week or so. You need to plant your plants staggered over time.

    The other thing to consider is a perennial garden. It takes longer to set up, but once going it's more reliable if your health or mobility fails a little and you cant tend the garden as much.
