When I was 19, I had three wisdom teeth pulled by an orthodontic surgeon. When I told him who my dentist was, he told me that the dentist I mentioned had a reputation as a particularly bad butcher. I conceded his point; I have stories. My local dentist (you know of whom I speak) is a great dentist and her staff are the most gentle and caring dental assistants I have ever known. Maybe it is small town politics, but it is good folks.
Yes, no argument there about our favorite dentist. She's the most gentle one I've ever been to in my life. It still amazes me that either her or her staff will call hours after the office closes to see how you're doing if you had a procedure done that day.
I am duty bound to not make a peep at the dentist. Back when she was pregnant, y wife had to get a wisdom tooth pulled using only baby-strength Tylenol. Part way through the procedure, the dentist had one of his assistants close the door and turn on a radio.
Oh the traumatic experiences of dentistry when I was a kid... These days even a root canal is painless. The female assistant is just gorgeous and gives shoulder massages during treatment. Not changing dentists any time soon 😉

Arms were rattling loose on my old dentist's chair.
