MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A teenager has been charged after police say he is responsible for shooting a 4-year-old in East Memphis last week.
The parents of four-year-old Itali Oakley said they were heading to dinner Friday night when they accidentally cut off another vehicle while turning out of their driveway on South Perkins.

Would be really curious on the grandmother's idea of 'stricter gun laws' and if she understands just who exactly would end up in prison (including this instance).
That's ghetto life for you. Any perceived affront is grounds for gunplay. I'm glad I live in a (mostly white) place where if I inadvertantly cut someone off on the road I can wave my hand in submission and point to myself to say, "Sorry, my fault" and the other driver waves or nods to say, "OK".
These fargin names never cease to amaze. Martavius, Barquevious, D'Brickashaw, Donquarius, etc. It's like they're trying to be Romans or something. We wuz kangz and shee-ott.
He's old enough to know better. Hang him in the public square, and tell the public they will not tolerate such behavior, no matter a perp's age, race, or sex.
Many years ago, I was a Medical Examiner for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, though I was at one of the satellite labs and not at the main office in Decatur. I was in Decatur for a meeting, and on the third day, one of the GBI agents came up to me and said "Hey, do you know you almost got shot yesterday?"
Apparently, he and his partner stopped for gas at the same convenience store I stopped at. As they were filling their car, a gang banger came out and said "Stupid white mother***r. I'm gonna kill him. He's a dead man." As GBI agents,that made their ears perk up. Then they saw me walk out of the door with my bag of beef jerky, and the gang banger pointed at me and said "That's the cracker. He's a dead man."
I had no clue. I hopped in my car and got on the beltway. The gang bangers got in their car and followed me. The GBI agents got in their car and followed the gang bangers. They followed me around I295 and onto I675 south to my hotel in Stockbridge. Apparently something there made them reconsider, and the turned around and headed back to the interstate, so the GBI agents headed home.
I asked the GBI agent what I could have done to piss them off. I was completely oblivious. He said he didn't know, but these guys were so deeply into honor culture that any little thing can set them off -- I might have inadvertently cut him off in line, reached for a piece of beef jerky he wanted, whatever. But the bottom line is that if I had been staying in Decatur instead of the suburbs, I might well have been shot, without ever knowing why.
Note how nobody gives a flying fuck about BLM any more since it's served its purpose. I mean you'd think there would be at least a few cities burning down after this latest Breona Taylor verdict, but the NPCs have moved on to "pray for Ukraine" now.
