Five essential commodities that will be hit by war in Ukraine

The war in Ukraine is threatening further disruption to already stretched supply chains. Ukraine and Russia may only account for a small proportion of the imports of major manufacturing nations like Germany and the US, but they are essential suppliers of raw materials and energy for many crucial supply chains.

Though the economic consequences of a war that threatens the lives and livelihoods of many Ukrainians will always be secondary to the looming humanitarian crisis, here are five areas likely to see trouble ahead:

  1. Real smart chip manufacturers. Off load your production capacity to Taiwan while China has always maintained that Taiwan is part of China. That wouldn't EVER lead to a bottleneck in chip availability because China is a good guy on the world stage. Just ask the Uighurs.

Then there's all of the European countries that MADE THEMSELVES DEPENDENT on Russia for their Nat. Gas and oil needs. They actually thought that Russia would be a good neighbor and trusted supplier because Europe is DEPENDENT on them.

They learned NOTHING from the two world wars last century when we had to rescue them from speaking German for eternity. TWICE. Now they'll be saying "Thank You Sir may I have another" as they are bent over and ... well you know the rest by Russia.

How you gonna like freezing in the dark, Europe, you smug bunch of dumbasses when Russia turns your gas off. Oh, they wouldn't do that? Yah, just like they wouldn't invade Ukraine or Georgia because they're sovereign countries.

    1. Follow the money, man. It makes sense, but then somebody has to build a multi-billion dollar chip fab stateside (guessing here, but it was quoted as bigbucks and a decade to productivity recently) that will never make money this side of either a trade embargo or flat out war with the CCP.

So, who's gonna step up and lay out that kinda cash? Anyone? Beuhler?

      Exactly.
