Indian kid gets scalped, parents are pissed

DEL CITY, Okla. (KFOR) – Andreas Garcia’s lips quivered as he remembered the day his long locks were cut in his first-grade classroom at Del City Elementary School.

  1. They should have their hands chopped off.

  2. Where was the teacher when this was happening?

  3. Did any school I attended in the 50's have a student handbook? Seems like discipline was in the hands of the principal, usually delegated to the assistant Principal, who was always the football coach.

  5. Why was this 1st grader being bullied? There's more to this story than is being told. Seems like a teacher is in need of remedial training and supervision, among other things.

  6. Cry me a river. He wouldn't have survived my forth grade class! I nearly killed my next door class.mate and fought several others almost daily.

  7. Maybe I am being too cynical, but I have a feeling the kid probably let the other kids cut his hair, and it is the parents who freaked out about it. A first grader typically won't care how long, or short, his hair is. I would bet it was his parents decision for him to have long hair.

  9. Kickapoo skin isn’t dark enough for it to be a big deal.

  10. I especially like the mother saying her son took the timw to grow hia hair long.
No, he did not. Taking the time means you took the time to do this thing so you could do the other thing. Growing out his hair took no effort from him wxcept to stay alive which is mostly the efforts of others.

Dollars to donuts the waaapoho set his lips a-quivering and became angry because that is what his -rents demanded of him. Its Outrage 101. I'm surprised if he didn't give a hrrmmph when they tsk tsk'd.

Demanding justice is become a new tradition. Its the way of our people.

  11. Wow. We have schools encouraging 12-year old girls to get their breasts cut-off -- and the people who cut off hair will probably get more of a punishment.

Okay, I agree that the teacher and the first-graders who did this should be punished in some fashion. But it's ridiculous that we're punishing these people while the school employees encouraging gender transition / mutilation are being celebrated.

If the kid wasn't an Indian, no one would care.
