Next week's headlines: Massive Fireballs and Explosions Rock Southern California

Organized groups of gasoline thieves have been striking stations around Southern California.

At a Chevron in Long Beach, the “super organized” bandits used trucks modified with large plastic tanks to capture gasoline after breaking the pump so it continues dispensing, a clerk at the station said.

  1. Looks like the California Beaner cartels are organized and innovative.

  2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there an emergency shutoff right next to the cash register?

  4. In Winnipeg, Canada, there are people going under vehicles and drilling holes in the bottom of gas tanks to collect their gas. Nobody's been lit up by a spark just yet. They're targeting places like daycares and charities too. Anyone with any kind of fleet (which could mean you have two company cars) that parks in an outside lot is a potential target. It's so malicious that I thought it was some kind of targeted attack the first time I heard about it.

Myself, I'm looking around a lot when I take groceries out to the car these days, especially on a stock-up run, which I've done a few of.
