Oh come on, that race card is so... so... so 2021

HOUSTON - A Houston restaurant owner is being accused of calling a group of customers racial slurs and getting into a physical altercation with them.

Both parties spoke with FOX 26 on Wednesday, the day after the fight was caught on camera.

  2. They were trying to use their black privilege to walk the bill. Very common to pull the race card in these situations. I know several managers and owners that shudder when groups of blacks come in because there is always going to be a problem. The owner should bring charges of defrauding an innkeeper.

  3. And yet they wonder why they are so despised by nearly everyone...

  4. Maybe a good journalist, I know oxymoron, would have aksed the owner to see the bill? We could have seen who is lying throughout the whole mess...

  5. How many times have I seen this? There's always a reason to not pay the bill, maybe a slow refill on the iced tea. The manager usually caves because it's his job if he doesn't. At least this time it was the owner.

    1. Reminds me of something I saw in a wealthy Boston suburb years ago. We were in a Japanese restaurant. There were four white (looking) guys a couple of tables away. They had a pile of empty dishes as well as a lot of unconsumed food. One very loudly declaimed "We're not paying this bill. The rice in the salmon rolls was warm. That ruined our dining experience!" The manager came out to placate this guy as his three friends smirked. After several minutes of drama the guy demanded, "And we need take out boxes for the rest of our food."

I was seething (and back then I was a much nicer person and not nearly the asshole I am now). Concerned, my girlfriend put her hand on my arm in a "don't get mixed up in this" sort of way. Looking around, the rest of the patrons were studiously failing to notice the action. As the four assholes were swaggering their way out the door I asked a passing waitress, "What the hell?" She sighed. "They come in every couple of weeks and every time the same thing. I'm not even sure what's going on, but either way I'm not allowed to talk about it."

I still have no idea what it was about. We figured either the kid of a local politician/govt person (such as the health inspector) or "Russian" mafia type.

  6. I will decide how big a tip to leave … I base it on quality of service received… I won’t go to an eatery that forces me to pay his employees salaries… that is his problem.

To the shyster lawyer repping for those hogs … using the argument about a too big gratuity charge in a time of economic hardship and rampant inflation (thanks Brandon) why are these people dining out with a gaggle of kids?

The bill was around 400 bucks if I heard that correctly. I haven’t eaten out in over two years. Too expensive so I eat great meals at home … cooked by me. No gratuity required.

  11. Owning a restaurant where there are large concentrations of them means the owner may have to take a loss from time to time. Sad. I feel bad for what's left of business owners in certain areas of this country.
