GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A bill awaiting the governor’s signature that would temporarily keep secret the names of lottery winners in Florida has at least one unexpected supporter: the woman in prison for murdering the winner of a $30 million lottery payout.
In other words "if I would not have known about him winning the lottery I would not have killed him and I therefore can't be found guilty".

I am sure the people running the lottery would love to keep the winners names secret (wink, wink)
ReplyDeleteAll you have to do (in Kanada, anyway) is say you have relatives in the far East (India, Pakistan, maybe other places). Apparently, there are, or were, people here monitoring lottery winners, and your relatives back home would get ransomed if you showed up to claim.
ReplyDeletePart of the rule here is, they get to use your name and picture if you claim, so, special rules for special folk.
Personally, I'd consider an anonymous clause(claim only 90% say, to remain unpublished) , so I don't have to meet the 200 friends and relatives I didn't know I had till I was publicly a big winner.
