My partner in crime back in California, Randy, was married to a woman who's first husband was killed the same way the year before I got out of the army.
What a shame. A shame it wasn't Trudeau.
ReplyDeleteWho has now cut a deal with the other Commie party to stay in power till 2025...
DeleteHaving been around big chippers most of my working life it's difficult to think of this happening. The sight of what came out of that chipper will stay with his co-workers for the rest of their lives. Horrible.
ReplyDeleteRead about another guys recently whose leg(s) got entwined into the limb of a tree being put through the chipper. Was eaten up to his shoulders by the time his pal who was right there could get to the front of the thing to turn it off.
ReplyDeleteYou'd think a big red kill button on the sides and top of the chute might be a good idea.
He was "rushed to the hospital"? Probably to test for covid.
ReplyDeleteEasy to imagine it happening if you're chipping branches with lots of forks and branchlets, and someone gets in a hurry feeding them in. One branch gets a little sideways and all of a sudden your arm gets caught in a "V" headed in the wrong way. All the chippers I've rented have the kill button near the chute.
ReplyDeleteHell of a way to go. He had to know he had seconds to live. As the saying goes, "When the minutes turn into hours." Everything becomes slow motion.
ReplyDeleteWhat a tragedy. Sorta reminds me of the movie "Fargo".
ReplyDeleteGreat compost starter, right?
ReplyDeleteThe paper said someone was filming while it happened, that I'd like to see!
