Free money for everyone, print more and hand it out on every corner. Less than 50% of the people even pay fed taxes now so most don't even care. If you pay your loans off and are working you're just a chump - Bidenomics!
the fuckers will try anything that will bring up their poll numbers while pissing the rest of us off. from what I seen of the collage kids, they too stupid to breath let alone get a good job. what this country needs is more trade schools and kids to fill them. my granddad use to say there no fool like a educated fool.
I didn't take any student loans. I just went to work in a foundry for 35 years. Any college that I went to, I paid for myself. I never knew that I would have to pay for loans others took out for themselves, for their own use and benefit, that would eventually be used to hurt America. I do find it hard to believe that Biden is considering anything other than when he can take his next nap.
No loans for me either. Bounced around from job to job for a couple years after H.S. Then I was hired at a machine shop. Wasn't sure if I would stick with it. But I did, for 42 years. Retiring in two weeks.
$1.5 trillion in student loans wiped away with the stroke of SloJo's Executive Order signing pen? OK, who's going to pay off that debt instead? Why you and me, of course!
I can see the lawsuits queueing up in federal courts across the country. I'd sue to get every penny I paid for my student loans back. (Not that I had much, but fair's fair, right?) How about those going to college in the future? Will they have to pay off their loans when the get them?
I might support SloJo's actions under one condition, and it wouldn't be negotiable: No more student loans, ever. Let the colleges and universities offering useless degrees die a long overdue death now that gullible wannabe college students with major titles that end in the word "Studies" will no longer be able to finance those worthless degrees with student loans.
Let the bastions of Left Think wither away and be dumped on the trash heap of history where they belong.
It could very well, though, cuz they're buying votes, not right away. It'll pop up during your audit.
Years back, people who lost their homes cuz of 2008, etc. and got the mortgage lender to eat part of the loss when they sold, "underwater", found out the lender's forgiveness came with a 1099 in many cases.
Unless Title 26 Section 108(f) is amended, it certainly would. And Biden can't amend US Code with an EO. Under only very limited circumstances can student loan debt can be forgiven and not end up as gross income.

DeleteI was gonna say "My grandsons." (18, 16, 11, 9), but hey.
Would that student loan forgiveness come with a 1099?
ReplyDeleteFair question.
