HOUSTON - Authorities say two men were shot outside a northwest Harris County gas station by whom officers believe is the owner of a vehicle whose catalytic converter they were trying to steal.
Apparently catalytic converter theft is a real thing down here, I've been reading reports about it for the past several weeks. Seems they like to hit the mall quite often. Jacked up trucks are the biggest target as I guess it's easier to crawl under them. The stupid police chief keeps down playing it and telling people to buy converter shields (?) but doesn't offer any plan to actually catch the criminals. Too bad the two in the story weren't killed. That would be an actual deterrent.
Probably not. In order to prosecute it has to go to the grand jury. A couple of weeks ago there was a deputy constable shot and killed after grocery shopping. Caught guys taking the converter off of his car he drew & they shot him dead. If it goes to the grand jury they'll probably no bill him. Harris County you gotta love it

ReplyDeleteunfortunately they were able to make it to the hospital.
ReplyDeleteAnd the shooter will be charged. Pay attention folks
ReplyDeleteAn other man to be locked up with the January six insurrection crowd: "Thou shalt not stop democrats from trying to steal for a living."
ReplyDeleteStealing catalytic converters is an exhausting job.

ReplyDeleteIn Texas, everyone has the right to defend both self and property.
ReplyDeleteStory says he shot them as they were driving away....it sucks, but that's no longer defense of self or property.
ReplyDeleteDiffer
Time to start using rock salt loads on people like this - if you're gonna be dumb ya gatta be tough!
