I love dogs and had some when I was younger, as did my now wife. We've just gotten too dodgy, health-wise, to be sure of being to properly care for them. We both have had cats all along, and so far, are up to caring for them. So we keep cats and encourage friends and kin who have dogs to bring them when they come to visit and get out dog 'fix' that way. Fortunately, we have a house arranged so that the cats and dogs can easily be prevented from having unsupervised encounters.
My female standard poodle does that kind of behavior. I'll be sitting in a chair watching TV, and she will come over to me, hop up and put her front paws on my shoulders while standing on her hind legs. She then leans right in and lays on my chest to nuzzle my face while looking me right in the eye, and will then tuck her nose under my chin like the dog in the video. I don't know where or how she learned such a human like affectionate behavior.
I just don't understand how anyone could go through life without a pup. Except for grieving periods I've had a pup for nearly fifty years.

DeleteOne of my Aussies behaves the exact same way.

DeleteTens of thousands of years of co-evolution is how she learned it. She's probably wondering how you learned to act like a canine!
DeleteThey're both cute!
