Ho-hum

A boring night here other than my wife freaking out because she watches sensationalist shit on youtube about the storms.
We had some lightning, thunder, and maybe, just maybe 50 mph wind gusts at times. No loss of power, internet or sanity.

  1. As a relative newcomer to North Carolina, I have only been through about 5 hurricanes. The winds have hit about 100 mph a couple of times, and I sat on the carport drinking an adult beverage every time. If they hit Cat 4 or above, I'll think seriously about leaving.

    1. Ya can run, but you can't hide, Okrathief. I'll remain in my Western NC single-wide through hurricanes, tornados and even the current invasion by Progressive Yankee retirees till my ammo supply runs out.

  2. I was sitting in an airplane on the taxiway when the front edge rolled through and noticed the windsock on the field sticking pin straight in the direction we were moving. Shortly after witnessing that we stopped and were put on a ground hold. Hell of a light show along with the wind and rain. It felt like we were in rough air on the ground and read they reported 70 MPH gusts at the airport around the same time.
