"If you were born in an odd year, your bathing months will be....."

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (CBS13/AP) — Californians will be asked to further cut back on their water use, state officials said Monday as they warned water scarcity will shape the future of the drought-stricken state.

But those cutbacks would come from cities and local water districts, not the state, with members of Gov. Gavin Newsom’s administration saying allowing local retailers to set conservation needs is the best approach in a state of nearly 40 million people where water needs vary.

  1. This ties in with that electric car thing from a few days ago.
Not enough water for California as it stands now, and damn sure not enough for a giant battery plant.

  4. You'd think with all the solar and wind farms they'd be able to power quite a few desalination plants and not have an issue, but by all means put sardines before people in your evolutionary priorities!

  5. Not enough water, but buiilding houses on every inch of the foothills from here to Placerville. Makes sense.

  7. Let's start ANY conservation of water by NOT irrigating the golf courses!

  8. Maybe if they deport all those brown skins they'd have enough water. Takes a lot of water flushing the toilet where 25 people are living.
