    #1 rule of urban combat: Don't.

    In this day and age of drones, guided missiles, etc, it's better to not fight in cities. Spread out, way out, and make it difficult and expensive for the enemy.

    Urban combat positions.. Well outside the urban area and equipped with Artillery, MLRS and drones...
    Otherwise you're just in a hurry to die.
