FDA limits use of Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine due to risk of life-threatening blood clots

The Food and Drug Administration announced Thursday it will restrict the use of the Johnson & Johnson one-shot COVID-19 vaccine after an investigation revealed that those who got the jab were at increased risk of developing life-threatening blood clots. 

The agency is now only authorizing the pharmaceutical giant's Janssen COVID vaccine to people 18 or older for whom other authorized or approved vaccines are not accessible or clinically appropriate, and to those 18 years or older who otherwise would not get a COVID vaccine.

    But the not-a-vaxes are "safe and effective" to eleventy !!!
    And of course J&J are immune to suits for the damage they have done.

    I took the J&J shot, happened to be what they had at the VA that day. 18 months later, I have not gotten sick, and had no bad effects. I would not ever take an mRNA shot, so if I ever decide I need a booster, it'll be J&J. But then again, I'm already on a blood thinner...

      Hawkpilot, having the training I did in vet school, the J&J was the wiser choice to take. Based on the technology and mechanism of action it certainly was the safer to take. The one and done approach also made it less likely to cause side effects. As to it's efficacy, well most of us vets knew a corona vaccine that worked wasn't likely. But if someone put a gun to my head and said take one of these three, it'd be the J & J one for sure.

    They sure do want to make people take the mRNA shot, don't they? Considering it doesn't do ANY of the things it was supposed to do, why?

    Or is there something else going on here? Now if you'll excuse me, I'll go put on my tin foil hat.

    I find it odd the FDA cancelled use of the vaccine for Swine Flu when about 5 died from it, yet here we are with tens of thousands dead and injured and only now is any action being taken. I guess they're reached their quota.

    All of them cause clots, and for the same reason: The spike protein. There are something like 37 proteins in the virus, and they turn your body into a factory for the single most dangerous one.
