California and 15 states that want the U.S. Postal Service to electrify its mail delivery vehicles are suing to halt purchases of thousands of gas-powered trucks as the agency modernizes its delivery fleet.
And of course the price of stamps and mailing of packages is going to go up to cover the cost of all those charging stations at each and every post office across the country because once it gets started, it'll snowball.
The same nut jobs demanding EVs are also working hard to destroy existing sources of electricity generation. Can't help thinkin China is behind the EV movement for nefarious reasons. Meanwhile China is building coal plants all over their country.
Funny part, postmaster general addressed the matter rather fully. The PO doesn't have the infrastructure yet, routes will not be able to be served by current battery tech, and the budgetary review process takes years (aka this batch of new trucks was scheduled years ago). Politicians shoving bad ideas down the organizations throat to pander for votes is abhorrent, if not completely predictable.
Be sure to check out the list of loons filing lawsuits over this, including Obama's buddies in the United Auto Workers. Follow the money. To the UAW making more vehicles and paying patronage to their Leftist fellow travelers. Fuck 'em.
One day the US will charge 55 cents for every email sent across the web. One day road rage will become car charger rage has people fight over chargers. Like when you go to the launder mat and find the dryer full of dry clothes and you remove them. Then all hell break loose.

ReplyDeleteThe alternative is to reestablish The Pony Express and use Oat Power
ReplyDeleteCA suing after telling owners not to plug their cars in during a brownout, shows it's not about the environment, just the virtue signaling.
ReplyDeleteYes, that or because a recharging vehicle fire took out the local office's fleet.
ReplyDeleteI get mail every day. I get important mail about once a month. Let the mass mailers pay for this pipe dream.
