Texas officer gives timeline of school shooting, admits mistakes were made

When asked why officers didn't go in sooner, McCraw said that "[The Chief of Police] was convinced at that time that there was no more threat to the children and that the subject was barricaded and that they had time to organize with the proper equipment to go in."

*

McCraw said additionally that law enforcement knows that they made poor decisions. "It was the wrong decision," he said, not to enter the school and take out the gun man initially.

  1. Most people I know would have been headed into the school, weapon or not, certainly not waiting for armor. When running toward gunfire, you don't stop until the bad guy is dead or you are.

    1. sigh........yeah. the nightmare never ends for those that failed the test of charging the guns...I hope the cops involved live a long time with that failure and the sounds of the dying kids in their heads. wearing body armor they might have survived it. now they will only know that they failed the test. Even Barney Fife would have loaded the one bullet he had tucked into his shirt pocket and said fuckit and charged in. just because SCOTUS said you don't have too doesn't mean you cannot do so. there is a way around that ruling. put civil cops under the UCMJ. FJB

  2. Poor decisions, no shit. Chicken livered, overpaid, under qualified cowards. That's the dangerous side of their job, and they failed.

Every one of them up to and including the chief should be fired, and their "qualified immunity" removed, since they didn't actually perform their duty.

  3. Police needed to make sure that it was not George Floyd or an other of the democrats' favorites in there. The risk of police officers losing their job or their freedom was too big.
Yes, the way democrats have gone after law enforcement WILL change their behavior.

  4. Once more, a local police department relegated itself to the status of the Broward County sheriff's office. They let people die while protecting themselves. A bad man with a gun is only stopped by a good man with a gun. There isn't a good man in any of the officers(?) that were on scene.

  5. Never forget, the Supreme Court officially established that police officers have no "duty to protect" citizens, whatsoever. It's not their job. Presumably, their job is killing dogs, arresting tourists in the capitol building, and polishing their boots and MRAPS. Aka "law enforcement".

That said, I hope every one of these cops has the sound of the gunshots as kids were killed (while they were threatening their parents) echoing in their heads every second for the rest of their miserable lives.

  7. I don't have to wonder the excuses cops make. Here's two:

'Until you put on the badge, you have no idea.'

'Being an MP doesn't count. You were just a guard on a secure installation.'

  8. Obama & Co. Needed a certain body count to jump on and control the narrative. Any chance operatives took cop families hostage and had them call their officer spouses with the message; 15 or more kids die or your families will be killed?

  9. Maybe call it in next time as a white cis hetero republican male smoking pot in the hallway will elicit a faster respons?

  10. Where was obama when this was going on?

  11. Far as I'm concerned, any LEO on scene holding people back is an accessory to murder.
Any LEO standing around while other LEOs held people back...accessory to murder.
Any DA that refuses to prosecute LEO for accessory to murder...same for you.
    Then again...
I give it better than 50-50 odds that at least one of those kids has an uncle or cousin in a cartel south of the border. All we'll have to do is look the other way. They've got an interesting way of decorating highway overpasses down there.

Enough accessories and you've got an entire set! I agree, justice should be done. The chief really fucked up.

  12. These things will always be clusterfucks. I'd say school administrations are the most incompetent assholes in any field.

  13. Chaos is normal. Damn if you don't charge and damn if you charge and kids become caught in friendly fire.

  14. That they all stood about 'obeying orders' and did nothing says it all.

Any normal man would have run in immediately, and fragged any pussy in charge who got in the way. We're not talking some office block, or even a High School, we're talking a Fcuking Elementary school here!

  16. The teacher that left the door propped open should also be charged as an accessory.

  17. This happens and the left still screams for gun control... Saying only police should have guns. Fuck that. CLEARLY you are the only protection you have. Be armed. Stay armed. GET MORE ARMS AND AMMO. Protect your family at all costs.

Side note: To the people of Uvalde... if you all get together and make the cops at that scene disappear, not one fucking soul will blame you.

  18. Cops are not there to protect "citizens". They are there to control you and protect your betters.

  19. Suppose, for political reasons, you wanted occasional mass school shootings so that you could smear your political opponents. You might pass a law legally prohibiting the adults in a school from protecting the children. You could call it the Gun Free School Zones Act of 1990, and you could claim that the children would then be safe. It would then just be a matter of waiting for the occasional nutcase. Be sure that the law is never brought up in any news reporting.

  20. The established procedure since Columbine was first cop on scene goes in and confronts the shooter NO waiting for ANYTHING.!!!!!!! maybe the first cop on scene from the PD could have shot and killed it (sorry I do not want to associate a human being with that piece of filth) BEFORE it killed a bunch of little kids. I foresee a lot of parents violating the federal law against having guns near schools.
