Sacramento County’s Dine at Home pandemic program was designed to feed homebound seniors, all while supporting local businesses. It offered relief at a critical time, running from June 2020 to April 2021.

Now some community leaders are raising questions surrounding the businesses that were chosen to participate — specifically pointing to the lack of African American-owned restaurants in the program.
Maybe people like Italian, Greek, Chinese, Japanese, American and French food, and not chitterlings, hog jowls, and collard greens.
ReplyDeleteI could handle some jowl and collards right about now. Chitlins, I can take 'em or leave 'em.
DeleteMost of what you are considering "black" food is actually the food of the Rural South and more American than just about anything else. I'll keep fried chicken, pulled pork, catfish, watermelon, grits, cornbread and pintos, and collards. You can have boston baked beans and boiled cod.
DeleteI had chitlin's in the Army in '76. First & last time, although I must admit that if there is a way to fuck them up, the Army would have found it. Tasted like grease-flavored rubber bands.
DeleteBut back to the article, I would wonder if none of the minority businesses chose to participate - 2,000 total businesses were asked...

As you said at the end... were no black owned businesses invited? Out of 2,000? Can it be proven these types of businesses were actively excluded, or do we have ANOTHER example of a demographic that can't be bothered to work hard to help themselves, so we'll just blame it all on whitey?
DeletePerish the thought that the only concern was the ability and willingness to provide food in a delivery radius for a specific price and that the business responded that they would do it.
ReplyDeleteIn general blacks don’t own business they burn them down, loot them, have brawls in them, rob them. Had there been any in the mento area surly they would of liked to steal money from this .gov shit show.
ReplyDeleteAny liquor stores delivering
ReplyDeleteHennessy and Newports❓
Luvs me some fried okra.
ReplyDeleteHell, nothing to see here. The Progs and Babs made a big deal about the song White Christmas, so this is just another infantile fulmination.
ReplyDeleteJust more Racial Obsession Syndrome!
ReplyDeleteEVERYTHING is Racial with these Psychotics
ReplyDeleteI for one say this is a good start, looking into restaurant ownership. But it's not enough.
ReplyDeleteDis is just the tip of the iceboig, I'm tellin' yuhz. I demand that the government set aside a certain proportion of its computer purchases to use those with CPUs designed by a Black. And we must also have operating systems designed by Blacks. Whether purchase of those should take precedence over transsexual-written OSes remains to be determined.
