Rand Paul Says Gun Control Bill Was Kept ‘Secret’ And Senators Not Allowed Time To Read It

As the Senate passed a gun control bill this week with fifteen Republicans siding with Democrats, Senator Rand Paul noted that no one had time to even read the legislation because it was “assembled in secret.”

“Unfortunately, this legislation was assembled as many are — in secret, absent well-placed leaks to journalists,” Paul tweeted, adding “There doesn’t appear to be a willingness or time provided to read, understand, debate or amend this bill.”

  1. Nice to know, but after it's been codified what the fuck does it matter. 95% of the Republicans are just the Democrat's "Bottom Boy".

  2. I wonder how many "surprises" there will be in the final version.

  3. Question for my folks here: if a citizen no longer has representation in/of their government, how much tea should be spilled into a body of water to gain their attention?

    2. Tea was tried before and failed. Think outside the historical box. Cut out their tongues and stop the bleeding by cauterizing what is left

  4. Then throw it out, the sooner congress just throws out bill delivered that can't be read the better we will all be.

  5. And yet....The Stupid Party keeps finding members to vote for the unseen bill. One more football stunt that the Lucy Dims keep pulling on the Charley Brown Reps, and the Reps keep falling for it.

    1. You are assuming it is the Stupid Party that doesn't know what the Lucy Dems are doing. How about the alternative. It is the RINO side of the Uniparty engaged in Kabuki theater for the "the people at home" so they can continue to keep their phony baloney jobs. And people continue to vote them into office, because there is a 'R' after their name, McStain being a perfect example. I often wondered why he didn't jump to the Democrats, so he could honestly represent himself, and he is far from the only one.

  6. How about just voting NO, then?

  7. A little inside baseball on how the recent gun bill, led by John Cornyn of Texas, was pushed through under the table in a way that defied public scrutiny. https://turcopolier.com/by-deception-the-u-s-senate-hides-and-slides-a-bad-gun-law-through-to-double-cross-the-public/

  9. Two points to make here: 1. Signing a contract you haven’t read makes you a dumb son-of-bitch, not a representative. And c. I don’t give a shit what the bill says. Ain’t hiding nothing, ain’t burying nothing. Too fucking tired to run. Please God, let them bring it on. Eod1sg Ret

  10. If you weren't allow the time to read it (analyze) what you were signing or saying yes to. Then the answer is a big fat NO. We've all been told that since we were kids. Ain't no different for them, anyone voting yes needs to be tarred-n-feathered.

  11. Saying "no" could be worse than not voting. Weasel words and phrases can always be added.

  12. If this is true ...than, what, 14 "freedom lovin" republicans sold your ass down the river without even knowing what the "fight" was about. The party of freedom huh?

    Still think your vote matters?

  13. You did not get time to read it because it was predetermined that there were enough votes to pass it. You had the democrats and rinos join together. There was not need to read it.

  14. Violations of the Constitution are best ignored.
    Excessive force is recommended.
