Realism in training isn't always a good thing

Houston Tipping went into Los Angeles Police Department training on May 26 a healthy, 32-year-old police officer. But after his fellow officers beat him as part of an exercise designed to “simulate a mob,” he left a quadriplegic, according to a new complaint Tipping’s mother has filed against the city.

Unable to breathe on his own, Tipping died three days later when his family took him off life support.

  1. Yeah, those injuries sound like he just fell down. Maybe off a 30 ft. roof, or 4 flights of stairs.

  2. If you believe commercial media:
In an interview, Gage told The Post that Tipping suffered a punctured lung, broken ribs, a damaged liver and a severe head wound. His spinal cord was broken in three places, which caused permanent paralysis...

This wasn't training. This was a gang-style beat-down. This young man was beaten to death by the cops, and the cops who administered the beating should be in jail awaiting trial.

Question: If this is what happens in training, what do you suppose happens on the street?

  3. And no one will be demoted, no punishments, just the taxpayers footing the bill for a pack of 90 IQ cheesed*cks. I'm curious as to the demographics of the "mob" who killed him.

  4. Given their track record, I wouldn’t believe anything the LA cops said. Good luck to Mom - I hope she gets millions out of that corrupt bunch.
