Can you say McNamara's Folly?
One of the reasons I got out of the army was because the higher in rank I got and the longer I was in, the more I realized I was surrounded by fucking idiots, and I'm not talking just soldiers but senior NCOs as well. They may have had the Army Way drilled into them as far as soldiering went, but they couldn't make a correct common sense decision to save their lives.
And now they're making it worse.
Democrats never learn. Nor can they pour piss out a boot even with directions printed on the heel. Looks like we are about to wind the clock back.
ReplyDeleteThey weren’t idiots, they were focused on getting promoted no matter what. To the exclusion of everything else.
ReplyDeleteMany recruits, historically, were following a family tradition. Some were looking for a direction in life; many reasons. What these deplorables that won't vaccinate or follow the Woke doctrine will be doing on the sidelines will be to love America, work hard, do good. And be prepared. They will serve in good time.
ReplyDelete(Old Tech) All I see is a recruiting effort to fulfill Operation Human Shield. Don't forget when you you send one down the spider hole, make sure he's wearing his lucky bell.
ReplyDeleteI told a couple of guys that exact thing just yesterday. They’d never heard of MacNamera’s hundred thousand. I had to work around those retards for half my career. Funny thing was, the Army promoted them all the way to the top of the NCO chain. But work around them we did. Eod1sg Ret
ReplyDeleteYeah, and I was in during that time frame that I had to serve under them, the fucking idiots. My last platoon sergeant, for example. I went from a platoon sergeant that I revered (and still do) to one that had zero people or command skills and communicated by screaming.
DeleteThey need a lot of cannon fodder for their coming war with Russia.
ReplyDeleteMarines were the same esp. the Nam vets who became lifers. As for the our today's military, I would the Russian's fuck ups have nothing to worry about.
ReplyDeleteI used to work with a guy who was Company Clerk while in the Marines. He also got a vacation in Uncle Sam's SE Asia resort. He told me the reason they made him clerk because he was the only one of the troops that could read. He later retired from the Air Force.
DeleteUnfortunately, they are actively getting rid of the people they need the most. And bringing in people that will be nothing but trouble (in more ways than one)
ReplyDeleteRVN 65-66 , 1Sgt, illiterate. FRG 72-74, electronic repair man, couldn't read or speak English. FRG, same time and station, company CO, saw him three times, once on arrival, once in PX, once on departure. BN Cdr, once when receiving honor graduate cert Bad Tolz, crypto course. And now you know why I threw in the towel after twelve years and on the SFC promo list.
ReplyDeleteone of the 1000,000, did my time and moved on
ReplyDeleteI was never in the military, but I agree. I spent (not invested) my time in higher education (lower thinking) and I use to always say, "How can I become so incompetent that I can get that job?" My advice to anyone that was new was; when you will go to orientation tell them that you will be orientated to their University but you won't be institutionalized...
ReplyDeleteIf you want to serve the American nation, stay out of DC's imperial military. DC ain't your nation.
ReplyDeleteSpent five years as a contractor at what was then HQMC at the now-demolished Navy Annex building.
ReplyDeleteOne guy put a push broom over his shoulder and marched the aisles while calling cadence.
One was busted for stealing money from the till during his off-hours job as night desk clerk. He was the only one on his shift.
Another washed out of MSG school after getting drunk on leave and beating up the town sherif. He was pleased with his upcoming posting to Guam because "All the women there pull their teeth man!!!"
I could go on.
If they want a dusky military, they're going to have to take a lot of low IQ, low-impulse-control recruits. Gotta lower standards for drug use, criminal history, education, everything. No wonder Russia and China aren't scared.
ReplyDeleteMy son went into the Navy at the age of about 22. He is now 32, and spent a bit over 6.5 years in the military. Told me that basic training was mostly things like trying to teach some of the idiots they had things like how to fold their clothes, and such.
ReplyDeleteBecause he was older, he advanced quickly, and left a 2nd class petty ofc. His military time was enough to get him a job with his city of Ashland, KY, the DPW. So it was a good thing for him, and is sounds like some of the people there are about as smart as those in the military. And the meth problem is as bad as it is here in MI. You cannot escape it, no matter where you go.
I was an Army officer in the 90s. I figured out that it wasn't the so called "field grade lobotomy" that made majors particularly stupid. It was just that the a huge chunk of the smart guys got out as captains, The Army managed to shuffle a lot of these dolts off to places where they could do less harm, so the situation improved somewhat at the LTC level and above
ReplyDeleteKeep in mind: .dotmil is NOT going to deal with the Russkies and Chinamen. .mil is going to deal with us. The Leviathan fears its serfs. It needs blithering idiots to do its bidding when CWII begins.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in the Marine Corps, I never heard of McNamara's Hundred Thousand. I did know that the Marine Corps had been forced to take what was called Cat (Category) 4 enlisted for political reasons. We had to have one, a escapee from some urban inner city cesspool, in my platoon. When not engaged in a specific task that he was ordered to do, his default position was to lean against a vehicle with his hands in his pocket and his eyelids half-closed. Yessir, a real intellectual asset for his country he was. Later, as a civilian, he was probably an Affirmative Action selection for advancement to a position he for which he was not qualified.
ReplyDeleteThe military has been lowering standards for decades. Women what to go through Army basic jump school, slow the runs, run in formation only, they did pushups on their knees and before chow men had to do 6 chin-ups, women laid on their backs and had to raise themselves to the bottom of the guard rail, and Navy divers did pullups. Navy dive school for Fleet Diver or EOD standards were lowered so they could pass, they could not even carry a set of twin aluminum 80s let alone a set of twin steel 90s. I am sure the ones who made it through Ranger training, the Q course, SWCC training were all given slack requirements and allowed to fail repeatedly and put back into training. Oh and I forgot if the male instructors even looked at them cross eyed they would scream sexual harassment. Now I will say that every once in a while there was one that was damn near the standards of the men but they were few and far and still only had to meet the lower standards.
