Bravo Big Boy: A Story of a Vietnam War Dog

From Mists of Time  production of the beautiful tale of a Vietnam soldier's training and living with his German Shepherd, Big Boy. This incredible story has never been told on camera before. Join us in honoring the Vietnam Veterans and their war dogs through this film. Colorado's own war veteran, Sgt. (retired) Richard Claggett and his defender and friend, Big Boy should never be forgotten. Through the words and photographs taken from Sgt. Claggett's time in Vietnam, you live a day in the life of a war dog soldier.  There is no stronger bond. They took care of each other through Viet Cong, booby traps, dangerous terrain often saving the entire platoon.

  1. Yeah man. I watched this and then just sat here for a spell staring at nothing and seeing everything.

  2. A reason to be grateful for the internet is getting to hear the Vietnam Vets... finding out stuff about it we never got to hear about at the time. SO many epiphanies from even just little offhand comments... little puzzle pieces dropping out of cyberspace into my lap. SO much meaning coming from out the decades to contemplate, to snuff out bewilderment so old it had to pop up out of a few layers of soil for it. Thank you, Kenny. --nines

  3. Some things I read and say, "Wait a minute! I was there then. Why didn't I know that?" My brother was drafted in 1970, went to Fort Riley, Kansas, as an MP. Later worked 20+ years as a civilian missile technician for the Army. There were several Vietnam vets in his shop. He said, "If I didn't know better, I would think they were all in a different war." I said, "They were." Some soldiers, the things they did, absolutely amazing. My youngest was 11B two Iraq deployments. He says, "We did such and such," and my my mind says, "You did what??" All of us with an MOS beginning with 1 were lucky or whatever if we came home. Some got by with some crazy stuff. You have to think the Korean War and War 2 trigger pullers were the same.
