I'm not impressed - come talk to me when you get it back down to two bucks

(The Hill) – A top White House energy advisor on Sunday said gas prices could soon fall below $4 per gallon on average.

Amos Hochstein told CBS’ “Face the Nation” host Margaret Brennan he expects the national average of $4.53 per gallon to come down and inch closer to $4 per gallon in the coming weeks.

  1. Spoke with a cousin who farms peaches outside of Kingsburg. Because of high diesel prices and labor shortage, he may let his crop go this year. Cheaper to eat the loss than bring in 220 acres. Sad times.

  2. It would be a lot more impressive if this administration and president hadn't been the ones to force prices to surge in the first place.

  3. More widespread than you might think, @Abe. When you had to file for crop insurance last fall/winter, the Doofus in Chief hadn't completely messed things up. Once the incompetence started becoming undeniable, there are lots of farmers who planted lower quality seed, and did not apply chemicals or fertilizers, planning to clean up on the insurance payout.

    1. @Anon,
Some context may prove helpful here. Some proofreading may also prove helpful, but I’m willing to overlook that.

    3. I have never screwed a dido. Nor will I.

As for here in rural Virginny we used to have the Yorktown refinery.

So, not really sure where the diesel I bought at $5.29/gal this morning came from.

  5. Reminds me of Obama bragging about reducing the deficit the most after he was the one that ran it up. Of course it was still higher than the one he inherited.

  6. Gas dropped just below $4 a gallon for about a week, before shooting back up to $4.16 yesterday.

  9. I don't have any idea of what kind of strings the administration is pulling to get the fuel prices down somewhat. I imagine the favors are going to be called in after the election & it's really going to get interesting.
