The writer, 75, was attacked as he was being introduced to the stage for the CHQ 2022 event before giving a lecture on Friday morning.
He was attending for a discussion of the United States as asylum for writers and other artists in exile and as a home for freedom of creative expression.
Sadly, the Western World has become much like the barbaric societies that go after authors.

ReplyDeleteI read "The Satanic Verses" when all the controversy came out. I wanted to know what the shitheads were all up in arms about. Two things. First, his writing style is really odd and it takes a while to be able to read it well. Second, while the ragheads claimed it was about perceived insults to the wives of the prophet mohammed, I suspect the real problem was an allusion to ayatollah khomeini being a bloodthirsty monster.
