Damn those Thought Police

NEW YORK - A new gun law that goes into effect in New York on Thursday will require applicants for a concealed carry permit to provide a list of social media accounts for the past three years as part of the review process.

State regulators will be able to browse the applicant's social media posts to decide if a person has the "character" to carry a weapon.

  1. I wonder how they handle: No social media.

    1. The first person rejected should sue the shit out them & go to court. Due to the recent scotus ruling it should not go to court anyway cause this sure looks like infringement !

    2. "We can't demand the applicant show good reason for a carry permit anymore? Fine, we'll demand they show good moral character then."
(What other constitutional right do you have to show 'good moral character' before you're allowed to exercise it?)
It's going to be a cluster-fuck in New York State tomorrow as Hochul and the Dems continue with their fuck-fuck games:

  3. Didn't the SJC rule just this year that this kind of petty bureaucratic BS is UNCONSTITUTIONAL?

    1. Are you referring to “that piece of paper” from a bunch of slave-owning dead Huwite men? What does that have to do with anything? The Best People are going to Repair The World whether you like it or not.

    2. No, SCOTUS ruled that a slightly-different kind of petty bureaucratic BS was unconstitutional.
This is the new-and-improved kind of petty bureaucratic BS.

  4. They just never actually Get It, do they? Okay, everybody Knows the people who intend to go on a killing spree First begs permission to have a gun, right? And the whole point of people being armed is so they can turn That asshole into a bullet sponge. If random shootings are Ever stopped, it's gonna be a long time. In the meantime, it's in society's best interests to make sure the law abiding citizens have the means to defend themselves.
The No Gun Zone signs never stopped anyone.

  6. I probably don't have the passwords for some social media accounts. Also, what constitutes a social media account? mIRC chat channels? Discord? erotic roleplay chat channels? Telegram? web forums? Or is it limited to just the big platforms like Twit/FB(meta)/Rumble/Reddit/etc? What even is social media? My comments here and even my emails could be considered social media.

I have so many accounts in so many places that I literally have to print out around 3-5 sheets of logins and passwords. Reddit is the only "big tech" social media platform I use for business purposes.

Seems like it's impossible to comply with and perhaps that's the goal.
