It took her FIVE days to decide to help herself out??? FIVE DAYS???

MANTUA, Utah (KUTV) — A 64-year-old woman who was last seen in July has been found alive after she endured a harrowing journey to safety, authorities said.

According to a statement from the Box Elder County Sheriff's Office, the Brigham City woman was reported missing July 26.

It turns out she had crashed her car into a steep ravine in an area where no one could see her. She spent a total of five days at the bottom of the gorge before deciding she would need to find her own way out.

  1. This is the mindset that will cause so many deaths from lack of preparedness in the coming years. No one is coming to save you, you either act for your own survival or you don't.

  2. Said she had injuries. Besides, if it wasn't too bad down there I would have probably stayed around a while too. Old people be like that.

    1. Her injuries couldn't have been that bad if she made it up and out after spending 5 days down in the ravine without food and water.

    2. Yea, but if no one is bothering me for a while I'm just gonna stay there a bit.

  4. A victim of the inculcated mentality of helplessness that most people have. The criminals in power have installed the idea that nobody can or should do anything without their approval and direction.

  7. Article says she intentionally drove into the ravine. I guess after five days of self-reflection she decided she wasn't in such a hurry to meet Jesus after all.

  9. The stories I could tell about the "old man on the hill" from me when I first moved to Texas.
I think he was about 86 when I first showed up, and died at 100.
Tough as nails and crazier as time went on.
