I think there's actually 3 bars installed on that tree, the third one is down low, at the very end of the GIF. Somebody needs to take a notching course, right after they brush up on Chain Oiler 101. My guess is he took the motor base unit off each time he got stuck, and installed another bar & chain to have another go at it.
You're right, Aggie. There are 3 bars in that tree. It's hard to believe anybody is that big a spaz. Maybe this is some sort of a gag. And just a guess but that looks like a cottonwood tree to me.
#2 - How in the hell did he lose TWO bars and chains in one tree? Chains not tight enough? I've cut a lot of trees with my Stihl and Echo and never came close to that.
#2 : Yup, his Man Card is now suspended for 6 months, and will be returned only after proof of completing the Chainsaw 101 class. Or, conversely: Next time, Dear, let your Hubby do it. --- Davis.P

Delete#2 That guy needs to put the saw in the garage and sign out front, Saw for Sale.
ReplyDeleteTwo saws for sale. There's 2 bars and chains in that tree.
DeleteYes, two. And neither to my eye had gone in deep enough to have compression bind the blade. What type of tree is that?
DeleteAnd where's the axe?

ReplyDeleteThis is what they make felling wedges for.
DeleteThis is where you have a sharp chain and hold the trigger like you mean business. If it starts pinching get the saw out before it gets stuck
