  2. Tijuana 1968, nope aint gonna talk bout it. I do remember landing in Okinawa. They put us on a bus and as we passed through a town somebody yelled, Downtown Tijuana! That brought a chuckle. I wonder if any readers know what a set of bull horns with three red dots over a doorway in Okinawa means.

    1. Wouldn't know any more about that than I would about Two-Dollar Annie, BJ Alley, BC Street in Koza or the only bar on Mount Tanodaki, which was off limits to us on the Hawk missile site.
Nor would I have a clue that one could walk into any Ryukan pharmacy and purchase OTC Preludin. Those were great to counteract the few too many Librium or Valium one may've taken a day or two before and it was now time to go on duty. Of course, after buyin' pills there was never enough money left to buy lubed condoms so we had to grab a hand full of the cheap, un-lubed ones from the bowl of 'em on Top's desk when pickin' up your pass to go to town. The workin' girls always complained when we came in for a "dry" run 'cause they had to supply their own lotion.
Nah, a guy wouldn't know anything about Okinawa, not even the opium-smokin' houses.
