"NOT FUNNY, CARL!!!"

OCALA, Fla. - Two nurses at AdventHealth's TimberRidge emergency room in Ocala, Florida, have filed a lawsuit against the hospital alleging they were left traumatized after the hospital conducted a simulated active shooter exercise, but did not tell those attending the training it was part of a drill.

  1. I wonder what would have happened if an employee that wasn't supposed to been carrying conceled at work was.

  2. That's the funniest thing I’ve seen all day. Some people have no sense of humor.

  3. Well, you know. Gun-free zone and all. Also Florida, which means anybody might have been carrying.

  4. Decent way to get someone killed. A few years back some genius decided to pull a similar stunt in an auditorium full of cops. A rookie pulled his gun and killed the actor.

    1. Law schools have a similar thing happen in their evidence courses. The prof goes droning on about something when a man bursts into the room and causes an incident - an assault on another person, a yelling match, a stolen purse. He then runs out the door. After things settle down, the prof demonstrates how wildly different the students' (eye witness) stories and descriptions are. I could see the same thing happening there.

  5. New rule seems to be that any time anybody gets 'traumatized' it costs somebody else five figures.

  6. Tangent: I'm at Local Big-Name University Hospital helping my favorite disabled client. PA suddenly blares "Take cover immediately! Tornado imminent!" All the blinds on the windows start to lower automatically. People are freaking and stumbling around. I look outside with my Skywarn-trained eyeballs. WTH? Nuthin' happening out there. Uh? "Oh, this is a drill." Idiots.
