I agree with his action. Not only did she cheat, she hid it and lived the lie for 60 years, all of the time taking advantage of him. I told my wife, before we married, that was something I would not abide and I could never forgive. Banging someone else would mean immediate separation to be followed by divorce using the most brutal attorney I could find. Some will think that a hard ass, indefensible position; but, there it is.
It would seem her lover would be dead. So, who told? I'll bet the guilt possibly the fear of the sin played on her and she told hubby. Probably in hopes the Pearly Gates would open for her.

DeleteAs I recall there was a huge financial incentive for doing this and the couple carried as if nothing changed. It was some kind of tax loophole.
