Sputterings of dissatisfaction among Democratic ranks over President Joe Biden's plan to wipe out at least $10,000 in student loans has erupted into a full-blown civil war within the party, with some claiming the move is 'out of touch' with what Americans want.

DeleteEvery time college loan money becomes more available the colleges raise their tuition rates in lockstep with the easy money.
ReplyDeleteBribem has No Authority to issue such an order. All money appropriations are the purview of Congress, particularly The House of Representatives.
ReplyDeleteHe hasn't even introduced a bill for such an appropriation. This is a dink and dunk move on the Obama shadow government to try to turn the tide of the coming tsunami in November.
The game plan here is for Bribem to announce the loan forgiveness to provoke an attack from Republicans on the illegality of the move so that Demonrats can point to them as being against education funding atc, atc, ad infinitum.
As far as I know, no Republican has mentioned anything about it. Interestingly Nazi Pelosi said yesterday that Bribem did not have the authority to issue that directive.

ReplyDeleteWhat makes college so expensive is .gov-backed loans. The colleges KNOW they'll get however much money they want, guaranteed. And they KNOW that unguided, purposeless young idiots whose biggest ambition in life is to be a TikTok influencer have no idea what they're signing on for when they decide to major in Lactose-intolerant Minority Carpet Muncher Inequity Studies.
It's a complete racket between colleges and the government to a) enslave the hapless young with debt owed to government, b) enrich colleges, and c) create ample sinecures for .gov people when they step down (which really means "go collect their markers from the private sector segment they shoveled money to.)
Cong Ryan says "it sends a wrong message to those without a degree." No, d!ckweed; it sends exactly the right message from the party that believes things can be "built better" and made less costly "Because we said so." See any statement by AOC.
ReplyDeleteI remember working lots of different jobs to help pay for college so I wouldn't have to take out student loans. Now I have to help pay for all the lazy asses that partied for 4 years (or more) while I was at work!
