Tennessee Abortion Clinics Plan to Close as Pro-Life Law Takes Effect
Some of Tennessee’s abortion clinics plan to close shop as the state’s trigger law banning the practice takes effect Friday.
“Starting August 25th, Choices will no longer provide abortion services due to a new law banning abortions entirely in Tennessee,” says a pop-up message on Choice’s Memphis Center for Reproductive Health’s website.
But wait one cotton picking minute. According to "those people" abortion is not but a small portion of what they do on a daily basis. If that's the case, then why the need to close? Me thinks some people in the industry have lied to us. Tell me it ain't so.
It should actually read: “Starting August 25th, Choices will no longer kill babies in the womb due to a new law banning abortions entirely in Tennessee”--FIFY
I believe Tennessee is the state that made it illegal for a resident to go OUT of state to get an abortion. Sounds like they're out of their jurisdiction to me, but the feds do it to sex tourists and to corporations paying bribes to foreigners (under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act). Interesting to see a test case.

ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't see how any State can restrict interstate travel.
