I figured, as well as very much hoped, that Steyn might have a thing or two to say about the execrable, loathsome FBI’s abominable act of Stasi-level thuggery against not just Trump, not just every Heritage American, but against decency itself. Happily, he didn’t let me down.
Twenty-five years ago after a session on Reconstruction, a student approached my desk. She was an intelligent young woman and had offered opinions in class. That day, she said her grandfather was in the Klan. “He’s in the good Klan,” she said. Not that one born of racism and Reconstruction. but the good one. That Klan has not made itself known outside its membership or family knowledge.
ReplyDeleteThat is the way of those who hate us, hate God and hate the guns we cling to, bitterly. They are the good people, good citizens of the world. They do not claim to be good Americans, because that is too nationalistic. Again, they want us gone. They want us dead.
My mother grew up during the 1920's, on a farm in North Carolina. She said the Klan helped keep the peace and enforce law & order. She never heard anything bad about them during this period. She was not a racist.
Deletelike the old Russian said, when they come for you, you have nothing left to lose at that point.
