Your Feel-Good Story of the Day

A Tennessee officer is being recognized for his good deed after a bystander captured the sweet moment and shared it on TikTok.

Officer Lance Hofmeister with the Murfreesboro Police Department figured he was just doing his job when he helped escort 84-year-old Elizabeth Goode to her hair appointment in April. But unbeknownst to him, his good deed did not go unnoticed.

On the morning of April 29, 2022, Hofmeister was patrolling his designated area when he saw Goode walking on a very busy stretch of highway.

"That’s part of my zone that I work every day and I just observed her walking down an extremely busy road with her walker," Hofmeister told FOX TV Stations.

  1. The contrast between this story and the one above it (the California cemetery chaos) could not be more stark. As a life-long Tennessean, and with absolutely NO desire to visit California), I understand the vast cultural differences between these two stories.

    1. You are insinuating that California has a culture? No Sir, they have a lot of things, but 'culture' isn't part of it.

    2. Remember - even bacteria can have cultures :)

  2. They had culture but then Kenny moved to Tennessee.

  3. I see the misplaced love here. Cops are NOT your friend. They stopped being so when they transitioned from sworn peace office (1Adam 12 To Protect and to Serve) to “law enforcement”.

    Badged orcs.

Okay so 1 in 10,000 did something nice for an old lady. So what.

Do 15 over the speed limit, see lights in your mirror….what feeling do you have in the pit of your stomach?

Qualified Immunity needs to go away now. No cops should be in a union.

    I have spoken.

    1. I've found violators of the law generally have disdain for officers. You must be one of them. Must suck to live a life like that. I do 20 over the limit every day, all day. Guess what. If a light comes up behind me I'll be thinking damn, got caught. My fault, not the cops.

    2. You never cleaned a child off the bottom of a Toyota going twenty over the speed limit on a resident street.
