Spencer and Gin are two cats in Yuba County that are up for adoption with the purchase of a home in Olivehurst, the FieldHaven Feline Center said on social media this week.

Re-homing fees..... a long lasting scam.
Every time I see an ad for 'free dog, $200 re-homing fee', I think that's not a free dog, that's a dog for sale for 200 bucks.
I thought they PAID you to take the dog and agree to care for it. What a crock of shite.
ReplyDeleteWhat is worse it the info and actions they feel entitled to. I was going to adopt a cat, and got the "adoption questionnaire", and decided that my mortgage application wanted less personal & financial information. They also reserved the right for home inspections at any time, with the right to remove the pet "if they felt the home situation wasn't acceptable". At that point, the pet isn't yours, you're just fostering it.
ReplyDeleteSoooo, no thanks.
If you want people to adopt animals, do it without Big Brother.
Every time someone puts an animal up for free on any of the local social media pages, literally 100's of Karens jump on there about how free dogs are taken by those horrible people that raise fighting dogs and they use those free dogs to teach the other dogs how to kill and it's so horrible and you have to charge a re-homing fee to prevent that from happening and OMG never give an animal away for free and do background checks and so on and so on.
ReplyDeleteEven though anyone who's actually trained a fighting dog will tell you that is not how you train dogs to fight. I don't think that particular urban legend has ever been proven, but by God you better charge a re-homing fee just in case. Also, re-homing fee sounds better than dog for sale, $200.
A fee will dissuade researchers because that's business. Zoosadists require a higher price because their motives are sexual in nature and they are akin to junkies looking for their next fix. They kill / torture animals in far worse ways than the cartels and South American gangs and Craigslist is their shopping ground.

When I was young I overheard my daddy tell a friend he'd visited a cat house. I guess this was the place.
ReplyDeleteOlivehurst. 'Nuff said.
ReplyDeleteKind of amazing there's a home there that's worth $285,000, isn't it CDP?
DeleteThey use the re-homing fee propaganda so that stupid liberals will pay up while thinking they're doing something good.
ReplyDeleteNemo
Because it is a dog for sale for $200. There should be mandatory ass beatings for saying things like that.
