Clearly… ATF Needs to Go as 4 Million+ Face Gun Registration

Washington, DC –-(AmmoLand.com)- According to an exclusive story published by AmmoLand News, the ATF is about to force millions of gun owners to register their pistol braces as short-barreled rifles, which will then be regulated by the National Firearms Act.

To be clear, this is exactly the type of jack-booted thuggery we’ve come to expect from a morally bankrupt federal agency, which has outlived its usefulness.

According to the AmmoLand News story, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) calls their monumentally stupid idea an “amnesty” because they won’t charge the normal $200 fee for an NFA tax stamp.

  1. OK. First off, "shall not be infringed"...

    1. ...as if the FJB administration cares about the Constitution. Remember, he said, no amendment is absolute. Not the 2nd or (possibly) the 13th?

    2. After we rebuild from the ashes, the next version of the second amendment needs to say: "A well-armed public is necessary for the security of a free people. The right of ALL persons, who are not currently incarcerated for murder or under a psycological hold, to keep and bare arms shall not be infringed. Not even a little. If you aren't in jail for murder or currently being held for being crazy, you have the right to keep and bare arms. The life of any government official who introduces or votes to pass a law that infringes on this right shall be forfeit should any citizen choose to deprive him or her from it through any means."

    1. Ya know, its a funny joke. But it does give me an idea... say you lived in a place where the local law was pro 2ndA. Say they agreed that mass confiscation was coming, and vowed to fight it.
Think they would file a report that you and your buddies had an accident on the lake? Send those serial numbers in as lost. ATF comes knocking hand them a copy of the report and show where on the lake your canoe tipped over.

  3. by doing this I think they are going after the home builders. I be willing to bet a lot more people built their AR pistols than bought them.
and they are making a list. there is no other way to explain this bullshit.
it is the one big thing they really want is a list of anyone who has a legal weapon.
notice, they not doing a damn thing about illegals guns in democrat cities .
they already stated they do not care if illegals get caught trying to buy a gun.
they just don't want us to have any.

  5. Nope, not going to happen and many hobbest will add this to wintertime projects. So it’s millions more than before.

  6. Ex post facto laws are expressly forbidden by the United States Constitution in Article 1, Section 9, Clause 3 (with respect to federal laws) and Article 1, Section 10 (with respect to state laws). Fuck 'em.

    1. You're correct, but neither the previous "allowing", nor the now "disallowing" are laws, they are regulations. That will be their argument if someone sues on EPF grounds. The last 50 years have seen the Constitution be undone by Congress giving the administrative state full rein (also, full reign).

This is where you cite West Virginia v EPA and tell them to GFY.

  7. I think that the BATFE's reason is doing this is to get people used to totalitarian abuses so when they try and force people to register other guns, for other "reasonable reasons", people will simply comply. Instead, what they will likely find is that they are making millions of instant felons out of otherwise law abiding Americans.
I don't even own an AR rifle or an AK rifle. I did just purchase another 9mm pistol from my son, one of the early pistols that the police went to. A S&W 3913, a single stack, DA/SA with an 8 + 1 magazine. Nearly unused, he got it from his MIL, and never shot it. So I now have 2 9mm carry guns. I hope that I never need to pick up an AR or AK, but if I do, I can. I just don't want to spend the money right now.

  9. Perhaps we should rename this agency the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, Explosives, Environmental and Racial Justice.

  10. Take the brace off. Someone needs to design a shooting jacket with a special padded shoulder that fits the end of a buffer tube.

  11. I have pistol brace that I was given. Prior to that I shot the gun by putting the side of the buffer tube against my cheek bone. For a truck gun the buffer tube only is decidedly more compact. 7.5" barrel, 20 rnd. mag.

  12. I think what made the ATF and anti gun groups start going after braces is all the videos of people using them as stocks. The people doing it are basically thumbing their noses at the ATF and now we're seeing blowback.
Check out Demonstrated Concepts to learn how to shoot without a stock. His techniques are very effective with AR pistols and "unstocked firearms".
Watching his videos taught me to use my Shockwave effectively. It's now my go-to home defense weapon and truck gun. He even showed Gun Jesus that it's not a useless range toy, but is in fact a good defensive weapon.

  15. Think about this: Contact your Congressman and Senators this new rule is a violation of the Supreme Court decision West Virginia Vs EPA. Which states that a federal agency CANNOT make a rule or regulation that is NOT explicitly in a law. There is NO LAW regulating pistol braces. They are doing this as a back door way around. the Supreme court decision..Why do you think they pushed the rule date from August to December If the ATF has a group of Congressmen and senators looking at this they will think twice. I am retired so I am headed down to their local offices this morning..
