Commentary: U.S. Farmers Grab the Lobbying Pitchforks as Greens Sow Costly New Reporting Mandates

Echoing conflicts from Sri Lanka to Canada to the Netherlands, tensions between farmers and green-minded government policymakers are building in the United States, where producers are squaring off against a costly proposed federal mandate for greenhouse-gas reporting from corporate supply chains.

    1. No he won't, Ted's always been part of the club. Withhold all agricultural products from all politicians.

  3. Sounds like farmers need to organize and put up a united front to anyone trying to impose these kind of requirements. Tell 'em to go pound sand or buy their commodities elsewhere.

    1. Congress does not listen to anyone except a lobbyist. It can be one person or 5000 people, whoever has the most cash.

  4. In 1960, the population of the world was about 3 billion. Today, it stands at nearly 8 billion. This was made possible by those evil corporations like ADM, and General Mills, et al.
It was by their own R+D, and investment that the world is able to feed itself with plenty of room to grow even more.
The only reason that there is any food shortage anywhere is due to 1 of 2 things. Corruption or corruption.
I consider ethanol production from corn to be on of the most corrupt things that politicians and huge corporations have ever foisted upon the American people. It not only took corn out of the food chain, which involves everything from the food on the shelf to the price of beef, but it basically forced farmers to utilize their land in agriculturally unsound ways. No longer could a farmer allow portions of their land lie fallow from time to time, letting it recover and regain it's natural nutrients but they must keep every possible acre planted in order to earn enough money to make it worth farming.
For anyone who is a Bible believing Christian, you are not surprised when you read in the Bible the instructions God gives to His people to let their land rest at certain times, or to gather extra food the day before the Sabbath, so they have one day free from work and toil to worship God, which was done together as a family unit.
Some people say that the Bible is not for today
The only people who say that are the ones who have not read the Bible. And that is why taking the Bible out of the schools is such a bad thing. Because you have also taken the wisdom that accumulated over 1500 years, and was recorded and tossed it out, because you are not willing to find the wisdom that can help young people today.
Solomon said there is nothing new under the sun. The people in 3000BC faced the same issues that we see today, from homosexuality to promiscuity to lack of respect for authority. Every time they come back to the knowledge of sound and conservative doctrine based on a belief in a deity. I have been waiting for that for some 40 years now. I am afraid that if it doesn't happen soon God will step in and judge and make no mistake, God is patient and kind, yes, but he is also a God of wrath and of justice. Pray for you and your family of course, but above all, pray for this nation. With the international politics such as Iran Russia and North Korea things like green house gasses will pale in comparison to the nuclear fallout and the burning forests, cities and military installations .
A 2nd civil war might one day happen. But a WWIII is as real as it gets, and there will be no peace treaty to sign, no land to divide between the winners
There will be no winners. I am not any kind of prophetic scholar or someone with a gift. But I am a student of history and of the Bible. And I expect to be alive when things go bad, and I mean, really horrible, like no one can imagine. Be safe, be careful, and be right with God.

  5. Allowing bureaucrats to essentially legislate is in large degree a part of the devolution of this country. Pseudo-elitest idiots that have never worked dirt pushing a punitive climate agenda load of bullshit on the experts that do work the dirt. Sick of this shit on every level.

  6. Every time the criminals in power impose an abusive mandate they then look around to see what their victims actually DO that will threaten their hold on power. If their victims do nothing then they take the next step to ratchet up the abuses and pressure. Till we start killing them in wholesale numbers they have no reason to stop abusing us....and they will continue to do so.
