'It's getting out of hand'

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — This week started off like any other for Jordan Pensa.

Monday morning, the Midtown Sacramento man got ready to go to work and made a stop at a convenience store near his home where he buys a cup of coffee each day.

He soon realized, however, his daily coffee stop was anything but an ordinary one.

  1. “I'm gonna get my concealed carry."

He better do it soon. Sacramento County's 'shall issue' sheriff will be replaced in December by a guy that the California Rifle and Pistol Association has rated F on Second Amendment issues.

    1. He may be about a year too late. I lived in a shall-issue county (Stanislaus) and the wait period was anywhere from 12 to 18 months from the day you started the process.

    1. It's California. To call someone homeless is 'stigmatizing', even if the unhoused person has just been arrested for felony aggravated assault.

  4. Not "unhoused" but perhaps unhinged? That the perp withstood pepper spray and a stun gun speaks to being on drugs? And it would not surprise to learn the perp has priors.

  5. It appears none of the store employees tried to stop the robbery. It did say they had personal protection items on hand, which they provided to the customer, and which proved to be ineffective. As long as employees stand around with their thumbs up their asses, robberies will continue to increase. If businesses started defending themselves aggressively - really aggressively - this shit will stop.

    1. Most likely the parent company will fire any resistors and the local prosecutor would charge said resistors for resisting.

    2. It just might be that the convenience store clerk/clerks were women. Most are where I live. I can see them tossing the pepper spray to a male customer. Except the Samoan ones. I wouldn’t fuck with them for anything.

  6. I really like Sacramento, but it has become a homeless shithole, like so much of CA. I haven't been there in 5+ years but I can only imagine what has happened in that time. Fuck em, glad I left.

  7. How does "unhoused" carry less stigma than "homeless?" Unhoused sounds like somebody used to have a house but got kicked out.

  8. Hell, in California if you drop a plate and break it you CAN'T call it broken. Ohhh the Nooes! It became dimensionally unstable on impact and is now multi sectional and no longer approved for use as a dining instrument.

  10. Oh c'mon. Pensa is in a fight. They've been fighting for minutes. Then he's coldcocked, he says?

Be nice to everyone you meet. But have a plan to kill them.

  11. This is where you pull your gun and shoot the "unhoused individual".

  12. They don't have Master Bedrooms here anymore either. They're now referred to as primary bedrooms.
Current wait time for a Sac County ccw is 6 months. That's for the initial interview.

    1. I think a few years ago, early in Scott Jones' tenure, they weren't accepting applications because they were so backed up.

I'm a Californian. My little pickup's clutch has both a master cylinder and a slave cylinder. Does that make me racist?

    2. LOL, I brought that very thing up to me Real Estate buddy.
I live to the North of Sac County. El Dorado. I'm not sure how long it takes here for a new app. but my last renewal took 5 days. They installed some new system that is smoking fast.

    3. Great to hear. Almost as pain free here in Nevada County, even with our new lesbian sheriff. Go figure.

  13. "Unhoused", lol. I'm too old to keep up with the linguistic gymnastics...I still just call 'em 'bums'.
