A Montana woman who mistook a wild Siberian husky in the woods for a wolf, shot it dead, skinned it and then boasted about it on social media has defended the kill, saying she'd 'do it again' even knowing it was a dog because it was 'aggressive' and 'coming towards her'.
Amber Barnes, who uses the name Amber Rose on social media, faced the wrath of thousands on Facebook after she posted proudly about her kill.

I wonder if she even knew it was a dog until it was pointed out to her?
Any one who has never been near a real full size husky has no clue here. When I was at my old home in FL one of the Iditarod trainers brought her team down(a block from my house) every year to train. She had a six-foot chain link fence around the back yard and those dogs would stand up with their front paws on the top fence stringer and watch the traffic going by. Beautiful animals, but I sure as hell wouldn't have wanted one of them to appear to be in attack mode near me.
ReplyDeleteAnother missed opportunity to keep your mouth shut.
ReplyDeleteUh-huh, and if you'll look at the picture again in the article, you'd see it was a pup, maybe half grown.
ReplyDeleteI don't care if it's "just a puppy" just like I don't care if an armed robber is "just a poor 17 year old black child on the way to doctor's school".
DeleteI saw this one and showed it to my wife. I could not believe that someone so "unknowing" about the animals that they were hunting were even trusted with a gun.
DeleteShe is the best argument for retroactive abortion that I have seen in a long time.
Anon@1:27 - Tell us you're not a dog owner without telling us you're not a dog owner.
DeleteI own two dogs. I'm just not a shitty dog owner. My dogs are well-behaved. If they weren't, and they ran over to their neighbor's property and started growling and being aggressive, I would fully expect my neighbor to take whatever action they deemed appropriate to protect themselves from harm and defend their property. Sometimes that's yelling at a dog. Sometimes it's throwing something at a dog. Sometimes that's shooting a dog. I don't care. Human life is *always* more valuable than a dog, a cow, a cat, or any animal.
Delete@wirecutter - Tell us you're a Republican version of a crazy-lefty "This is my cat/furbaby" without saying you're a Republican version of a crazy-lefty "This is my cat/furbaby".
Anon@11:56 - Show me one place in the story where she was on her private property and the 'wolf' got aggressive with her. If you bothered to read the story, she was in a National Forest and was hunting bear.
DeleteYou're pulling shit out of your hat to justify your point of view.
And, I'm NOT a Republican. I've voted Republican twice in my life, both times for Trump and it was only to keep Hillary and Biden out of office. Trump's too goddamned liberal for my tastes.
Sorry--I didn't realize "your private property" was the only time you were allowed to defend yourself from an aggressive dog or wolf.
DeleteThe last time I voted was just after I turned 18. I voted for Bush. Later on I realized I was giving my ascent to war crimes, abuse of my neighbors, militarizing the police, and depriving myself and my fellow countrymen of their rights. I don't want my name associated with that. So I stopped voting. When you vote for the "lesser of two evils" you are still choosing evil.
Again, she SAID it was aggressive. You take everybody's word about everything?
DeleteSo basically, because you don't vote, you think you can trash talk and make assumptions about anybody else's political affiliations? Is that what it is?
She SAID. You automatically dismiss the only witness to the incident just because you have a hard-on for dogs?
Delete"She said the aggressive animal was 'howling, growling' and 'coming at her'"
ReplyDeleteI don't care if she can't tell the difference between a wolf and a huskey. Sounds like someone was a shitty dog owner and let their aggressive dog out to threaten humans.
She SAID..... of course she said that after people started chewing her ass.
DeleteDumping dogs with parvo in the Montana backcountry is a wolf control hack.
ReplyDeleteIn related news Ms Rose now says those two mountain lions she killed may have been her neighbors missing cats, Sorry, not sorry!.
ReplyDeleteCrazy chick has probably never been around dogs before. I have NEVER met an aggressive husky; they top the hyper and playful meter but never aggressive. TMK, she killed two dogs and those are just the ones known.
ReplyDeleteShe has no business "hunting" if she can't tell the differences between huskies, malamutes and wolves, or coyotes for that matter. Next thing ya know, she might shoot someone else hunting and claim she thought that human was a bear.

I grew up in rural PA and practically lived in the woods from a young age and saw my fair share of feral dogs. One day as I was squirrel hunting on the side of a ridge I saw this doe running towards me. It stopped briefly about 10 yds from me and was looking back down the ridge. I could see it's tongue hanging out the side of its mouth as it breathed very heavily. I had no idea why but in a few moments it took off heading up the ridge. Several moments later here comes this dog trotting in the very same path the doe took. I'm sure that doe slept good that night. -sammy
ReplyDeleteRural Iowa to here, we have problems with city people moving in and letting their dogs run loose. Once the dogs start chasing deer, calves, or sheep they become target practice. We don't have animal control so deputies will often shoot strays to keep the feral dog packs in check.
DeleteYep. Those feral dogs will chase down deer and chew their hind quarters off while the deer is still alive. If I see a dog in the woods and can drop it collar or not I will every time.
DeleteAnon@10:28 - You do realize that people hunt with dogs, right? Shooting a hunting dog is a good way to get yourself shot.
Delete"Shooting a hunting dog is a good way to get yourself shot."
DeleteA good way. But, sadly, not a likely way.
For some reason... above my pay grade to know... The United States is proud to be overrun with insanely wealthy tards. Vive le general sufferage!
the dog might of been lost and just happy to see a human. i believe she had no clue what it was, just wanted to shoot something. but then started trying to cover up her ignorance
ReplyDeleteHow anyone could mistake that for a wolf. And she say's she'd do it again. Jesus wept
