HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Federal authorities are trying to figure out how at least a dozen fully-automatic M16s ended up among military surplus equipment sold to a Houston couple.
It's a good thing they were registered democrats. They must have been since if they weren't, they'd be in federal custody now for trafficking in automatic weapons.
We were issued brandy new M-14s back in the early 1960s. Unintentionally a couple of guys in my company were issued their pieces with the semi-full auto selector switch in place. They tore up the targets at the range till the range officer announced "Cease Fire, Cease Fire you assholes".
I suspect the way it happened is due to how mil surp is sold at auction. Often different material will be put together to make a lot. The buyer of such lot is usually interested in one type item but has to buy the whole lot to get it. The surplus centers are non-stop busy and are interested only in tagging and shoving product out the door.
Most likely will be traced back to what was left in Afghanistan.
ReplyDeleteHouston couple good citizens. My bet is both are fully vaccinated

ReplyDeleteMaybe I'm biased but you try to do the right thing and wind up getting a colonostipy by the ATF. It's probably not over for them.
